Introduction on how to blog and enjoy the holidays
The holiday season is fast approaching. I don’t know about you, but I tend to take long periods off. Even though I don’t plan to do that, it just happens. And that only end up making me feel really bad about myself. So this year I decided to go into the holidays with a plan.
With all the goals I still want to achieve this year, I must stick to the plan I set for myself. This is the year that I’ve decided to use my time effectively and end the year on a positive note. Doing this will make me feel very accomplished.
Let’s get into my intentions for the holiday season. How I will manage my time more effectively to get the most done and have the best Christmas.

Find and Eliminate triggers
Find and eliminate those time stealers. What are they? Find them. That’s the only way of getting rid of the problem. Cut out everything that steals your time. So you can focus on the actual tasks at hand.
And that is to write posts ahead of time and set everything you can on autopilot. To do that you must set up a game plan before the holiday season.
Work and do as much as you can. If you usually write one blog post a week, start writing two pieces of content and save the other one for the week of Christmas and New Year’s.
Consult your editorial calendar
Plan out your blog content. It will prevent you from feeling overwhelmed. Know what you will be writing about. You should already know this if you have an editorial calendar.
However, your blog schedule will change during the holiday season to include your seasonal content. Look for inspiration on Pinterest on what content you want to share during the holidays.
You want to brainstorm and add your seasonal content for December. The goal is to plan your content as early as possible and write down everything you need to do on your blog during the holiday period. Don’t forget to create pins to promote your content during this optimal time.
It becomes easy when you already know what you will be writing about.
Outline your blog posts
Outline all your holiday content. Get the ball rolling. Outlining is half the battle won. Do your keyword research ahead of time because it can take a bit of time. After that, most of the hard work is done.
Write your posts
Sit down and write your posts. You are just filling in your outlines. Find the time in your blogging schedule to outline, edit, add links, and create pins for each blog post.
Get it done as fast as you can to start promoting for the festive season.

Reshare old content
When you are strapped for time and don’t have time to write anything new, visit your archives.
If you have old seasonal content you are golden. Improve those posts. Make them better by adding more meat to your content, graphics, links, and a call to action. Create new clickable pins as well.
Make it work
If there is one thing moms know how to do, it’s making it work. I know it feels like we are missing out on time with loved ones sometimes. But you don’t have to. Taking an hour out early in the morning while everyone is asleep is an excellent time to get a bit of work done on your blog.
Find little pockets of time where you can do something on your blogging business. You can work on your blog and enjoy your holidays.
The goal is to make the most of your time. And that means getting most of your holiday content done ahead of time. Before the busiest time of the year.
Post- Holiday Content
Don’t forget to create content for after Christmas too. Your January content is just as important and should already be done before the holidays.
So many bloggers ignore this, including me. Which is a huge mistake because people are looking for content that motivates them and gets them ready for the year ahead. Brainstorm and write topics within your niche that people are searching for.

Slow down and be present
Most importantly, take time to take it all in. Be present. Live in the moment and just be. That is so important.
We are in such a rush during the year. Christmas is a time to slow down. To stop and smell the roses.
Play, laugh, and reconnect with your family. Build and strengthen those bonds with the ones you love most in this world.
Your blog and goals are important, but what’s most important is family. It’s everything.
Also, spend time with yourself. Pray, meditate, read and connect with your creator. Check-in and make sure you are still on track with your purpose.
If not, adjust and change course. We have a chance to start over every day.
What matters is that we are happy no matter what we are doing.
This is, after all, the season of love, giving, and miracles.
Don’t forget to give yourself grace. If you make mistakes, which we all do, forgive yourself and move on.
