Let’s get started on the steps to take for a productive morning routine for bloggers

The goal here is to set simple actionable steps that are convenient for you and that will help you to follow effortlessly every morning.

You don’t wanna set an unattainable hard-to-reach routine that will make you cringe getting out of bed. Make it as simple and easy as possible. You want your morning routine to be enjoyable.  Something that you look forward to doing and will set the tone for the rest of your day.

Productive morning routine

1. Quality sleep

A good morning routine starts with a good nighttime routine. Having a good night’s rest sets you up for the day ahead. If you don’t get enough sleep you will be grumpy, tired, and annoyed throughout the entire day.

I read somewhere that it is not so much about how many hours you sleep at night, but the consistency of your sleep. Going to bed and waking up at the same time every night qualifies as quality sleep.

Of course, you want to get an adequate amount of sleep each night. It will be different for everyone. Some people only need six hours each night, while others may need eight. Find what works best for you.

If you have a good night’s rest you will be energized and excited for the day ahead. This is the first step to a good morning routine.

Sleep is very important for your productivity, sanity, and health.

2. Meditation/Prayer

If you are a Christian pray and spend time with God as soon as you wake up. I find that is the best time before life gets crazy and kids demand my attention. Spending time in the presence of your creator has a very calming effect. Taking all your problems and laying them at your heavenly Father’s is what he wants you to do.

If you are not religious, spend quiet time alone. Meditate and do breathing exercises.

3. Make your bed

For someone like me, that’s a given. It’s how I was raised. In other parts of the world that is not the case.

Make your bed when you get up in the morning. You will feel much more accomplished from that small act alone.

4. Drink water

I love water. Can’t get enough of it. I thank God for that because most people have to force themselves to drink it.

After a long night of sleep, your body becomes dehydrated.

Water is life. It relieves stress, clears toxins, gives you energy, and keeps your body healthy.

Drinking water first thing in the morning wakes you up and gets you going for the day. It’s so good for you.

5. Listen to motivational talks

Our brains are very susceptible in the first two hours of waking up. What we do in these hours sets the tone for the entire day. If you load it full of positive information your day will go in that direction. It also motivates you to be your best self.

6. Journaling

Journaling can improve every area of your life. It doesn’t have to take you hours either. Ten to 15 minutes a day is good. What matters is that you get rid of all the clutter in your mind so you can think more clearly and have quality thoughts.

Journaling has many benefits. It helps you be more productive throughout your day and live intentionally.

7. Gratitude

Being grateful is one of the best things you can ever do for yourself. You don’t feel sorry for yourself and are more grateful for everything you have in your life.

It will put everything into perspective and help you to live a more positive, more productive, and healthy lifestyle. Practicing gratitude as a routine in the morning will enrich your day and your life in a positive way that you cannot even imagine.

It doesn’t have to be a long list of things. You can just write out five things that you are grateful for every day.

And when there are those difficult days when nothing comes to mind, write down the simple things you take for granted.

Like waking up, being healthy, alive, having your kids around you. A job or having running water. It can be the simplest thing, really but just be grateful for what you have. All of this is a gift from God and we should appreciate it.

Because other people in the world don’t have what you take for granted.

Gratitude as a morning ritual will change your life.

8. Exercise

Most people feel that working out first thing in the morning is more beneficial. Of course, you have to do what feels good for you.

Working out first thing in the morning helps you to be more productive throughout the day. This is one of the best morning routine tasks. It has many benefits such as improving your mental and physical health and improving your mood.

9. Be adaptable

Be willing to adjust and update your routine. Your morning routine doesn’t have to be set in stone. Change it up.

Try new things until you feel you have the perfect morning routine that you can stick to without having to think about it.

The more you do it the more it will be second nature to you. We are after all creatures of habit.
